- In this Americana Landscape Painting, "Mist
in the Moonlight," an original oil on panel, I was attempting
to create a night scene whch is more than four directions, that
is all four sides and up and down, i.e. I wanted to represent
the cosmos including the heavens and the the shimmering moonlight
on top of the surface of water. The silvery shimmer of moonlight
on the surface of living water slowly being dissolved by gentle
mists risen from the water as the eye travels to distant hills,
all in the presence of a twisted old oak tree standing in silent
accompyment to the forces of nature in this atmospheric nocturnal
