In this Figurative Painting, "Martyrs Lane," an original oil on panel, I was inspired to take a look at my studio world and make a record of it by casting an image of my world upside down and backwards on to the surface of a panel by using a magnifying glass. Then I included the figurative aspect of my hand along with the still life aspect of the magnifying glass itself and made a painting of the whole arrangement. To see another painting in this theme go to, "Focal Points and Vanishing Points", No. 25 |
