In this "Self Portrait with Possum Hat," an original oil on panel, I used costume to promote new character in the subject, and in the case of my portrait the use of costume helped with composition and subject matter, even with the same old face.

Regarding the Possum Hat it is strictly a coincidence that I once lived on Possum Kingdom Lake, TX.
